Antoinette O’Connor is a Consultant Neurologist at Tallaght University Hospital and Clinical Associate Professor at Trinity College Dublin. She completed a PhD in familial Alzheimer’s disease at University College London and leads a HRB-funded research programme investigating the use of blood biomarkers to advance the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease in Down syndrome.

She is a member of the Steering Committee of Dementia Trials Ireland, Clinical Lead of the Irish Dementia Registry, and co-leads the all-island biobanking initiative within Dementia Research Network Ireland. Her clinical and research interests focus on young-onset and genetic dementia with a strong interest in accelerating access to clinical research, trials and emerging therapies.
